 What items have to be submitted to the Health Department for my
proposed Retail Food Business and how long does approval take?

Answer:

Whether you are opening a new location or renovating a current establishment, a completed Retail Food Establishment Plan Review application form and associated plans and specifications are necessary and must be submitted to the health department. The application is available at on our Forms web page.

Specifically,

Plans must include:

*Menu
*Anticipated volume of food to be stored, prepared, and sold or served.
*Proposed layout, mechanical schematics, construction materials and finish materials
*Proposed schedule of employee training in food safety

The appropriate fee (indicated on the application form must be paid to “MCRHC” prior to any staff review or approval.

One (1) copy of the plans and specifications is sufficient.

The Health Department will review the plans and respond within 30 days of the date of submission.
