Our Health Officer, David A. Henry, has retired as of November 1, 2022. David began with us in 2013 and has contributed to our 86 year legacy of reliable, responsive, and accountable shared services for our member communities.

In May of 2022, we became the 1st health department in Monmouth County New Jersey to become accredited through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). To receive accreditation, the Department had undergone a rigorous, multi-faceted, peer-reviewed assessment process over several years to ensure it met or exceeded a set of quality standards and measures. The mission of the voluntary national accreditation program is to improve and protect the health of the public by advancing and ultimately transforming the quality and performance of the nation’s state, Tribal, local, and territorial public health departments.

David Henry has played an integral role in The Monmouth County Regional Health Commission No. 1, and we would like to wish him all the best in all future endeavors.

It is essential that we remain focused on our mission to serve our entire community and to achieve health equity by promoting wellbeing, preventing disease, and protecting the environment through partnerships, innovation and excellence in public health.

We will continue to serve our member communities through a transition plan with our Board of commissioners and our town Administrators as we delegate responsibilities and rely on the incredibly talented staff who are experts in their fields. At this time Dominick Astino, Principal REHS will be our Interim Supervisor, and he can be reached at dastino@mcrhc.org, or 732-493-9520 x 105.

We want to thank everyone for your continued support of Monmouth County Regional Health Commission No. 1, and ask that in the months to come we work together to ensure our future, like its past, is one of operational excellence, and delivery of superior service.
